Course
Developing Student Writing: Write to Learn
This course has been developed to embrace the notion that we write to learn. You will discover a variety of writing and prewriting activities, all of which have been designed to promote students’ understanding of ‘the point’ of writing and assessment to embed in your teaching.
This course has been developed with Sandra Abegglen from the University of Calgary, Canada, Tom Burns and Sandra Sinfield from London Metropolitan University, UK, and it includes short videos, activities, and discussion prompts. When completed you will:
- Be able to scaffold ‘writing to learn’ in your teaching.
- Be able to employ many activities for students that can help deconstruct writing and other assessment tasks (formal and informal) and develop students’ learning.
- Find suggestions and links for further reading, including web links that lead to (free) online activities to enhance your classroom practice.
