OneHE was formed in 2018 as a “profit with purpose” organisation, committed to helping educators worldwide to increase the impact and effectiveness of learning and teaching in higher education. We deliberately chose to establish OneHE as a private company so we could raise investment to further the community’s goals, recognising that previous efforts have lacked sustainable funding and been subject to the whims of policy-makers.
We are a member-led organisation, focused exclusively on the needs of educators. Every decision and action is taken with the goals of our community in mind. We take consultation and communication with our members extremely seriously. Our Advisory Group and User Group, drawn from our membership, help to shape the future direction of OneHE. We welcome all feedback from our members.
One of the things that makes us unique is that we believe passionately in giving back. That’s why a significant proportion of all membership fees is reinvested into the community through the OneHE Foundation, a commitment that is enshrined in our founding principles. As the OneHE community grows, we want everyone to benefit from the investments we can make into improving the student academic experience.
We are driven in all things, by our values which are to be open, inclusive, trusted, progressive and aspiring. These values are reflected in our Code of Conduct for members, and govern the way we operate. We believe they are the values we all need to make the global higher education community successful and to enhance public faith and value in what we all do.
Whether you are an individual educator who wants to do the best for your students, a community manager driving practice in your field, or an institutional leader who wants to provide more and better opportunities for your staff – we welcome everyone who shares our passion for improving the impact and effectiveness of learning and teaching in higher education.
