OneHE works with the National Society for Experiential Education to increase reach and awareness of high impact practices.

Experiential education is a high impact pedagogy that helps students learn through an educational experience outside the university setting, and reflection on that experience. It’s widely applicable but often under-used, partly because getting started can be intimidating.

That’s why we’re delighted to have teamed up with the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) to create ‘An Introduction to Experiential Education,’ which provides a concise and practical introduction to experiential education, and to make it freely available to educators worldwide.

The introduction covers the essentials of the topic, why experiential education works, and the eight good practice principles that underpin success. We’re pleased to have been able to work with practitioners who explain how they have put these principles into practice and offer insights into how they can take the pedagogy further for even better results.

This is the first of our “Introductions to…” with partner organisations and we love the real-world perspectives from frontline educators. If you’re a member of a society that focuses on a specific pedagogy, get in touch! We’d love to work with you to create an introduction to your area of expertise and make more educators aware of the work your organisation does to support student success.
