Introduction to Person-Centred Education

Person-centred education asks what the educator can do to best support the needs of all students, by placing their unique intersectional identities at the centre of the learning experience.

This course has been developed with Dr Erik Blair from Queen Mary University of London, UK and includes short videos, activities and discussion prompts. When completed you will:

  • Understand what person-centred education is and how you can use it as an underpinning principle of your teaching for the benefit of all your students.
  • Have new ideas for small changes you can make in your thinking and practice that can have a powerful impact on your students and their sense of belonging.
  • Know some questions that you can continuously ask yourself to ensure that you are thinking about your student’s needs above all else.
