Sarah Silverman is an educator and independent faculty developer focusing on neurodiversity, disability studies, and inclusive instructional design. Her areas of interest include STEM teaching and learning, Universal Design for Learning and accessibility, and Disability Studies. Sarah earned her PhD in Entomology at UC Davis, and has worked in teaching and learning programs at UC Davis and UW Madison. Sarah writes a Substack newsletter called “Beyond the Scope” in which she discusses teaching and learning topics that often fall beyond the scope of what introductory faculty development programming is able to cover. Her forthcoming book, Classroom Mindscapes: An Introduction to Neurodiversity for Educators is available for pre-order. It is part of the Teaching, Engaging, and Thriving in Higher Ed series at the University of Oklahoma Press.
