Applying Cultural Humility In Your Classroom

Cultural humility is an essential skill for cultivating openness and understanding of diverse cultures, which enhances educator-student relationships and engagement.

This course has been developed with Dr Kelley Haynes-Mendez from the American Psychological Association, USA, and it includes short videos, activities, and discussion prompts. When completed you will: 

  • Understand the concept of cultural humility.
  • Recognise the challenge of ethnocentrism and how to counter it.
  • Be able to apply the ‘Shared Identity’ exercise in your context.
