An Introduction to Culturally Responsive Teaching
The purpose of this course is to increase faculty understanding of culturally responsive teaching by exploring its various nuances, practical models of application and our cultural understanding.
This course has been developed with Dr Courtney Plotts, an independent leadership and education coach, USA. This course includes several short videos, activities, and discussion prompts. By the end of this course, you will have a better understanding of:
- The role of culture as it pertains to teaching and learning;
- The influence of ethnic culture and intersectionality on the teaching and learning process;
- How to use the ACCCE model to analyse and inform small changes to make your classes and teaching more culturally responsive.
