Hello and welcome. I am Dr. Lalitha Kirsnan, Sessional Academy from the Department of Marketing at Griffith University, Gold Coast Australia. I have been teaching a wide range of marketing courses at Griffith University for over 12 years now. My research interests lie in consumer psychology and mindful marketing. So in this course, you’ll be learning how to create an engaging online classroom using Miro. You will understand the research base surrounding student engagement with the use of digital white box like Miro. You will learn how to utilize Miro in your online classroom environment and you’ll also learn how to create at least one activity on Miro to help with your students’ learning experiences in their online classrooms.

Welcome to the ‘Creating an Engaging Online Classroom using Miro’ course which has been developed with Dr Lalitha Kirsnan from Griffith University, Gold Coast Australia. Engaging students is an essential component of effective education in the age of online learning. Students who are engaged in the learning process are more likely to participate actively in the process, retain information more effectively, and achieve better academic results. This course demonstrates how educators can increase student engagement in online classrooms by using Miro, an online visual collaboration tool.

I am able to actually see in real time how my students are progressing with their classroom activities
