Karen Costa is an author, adjunct faculty, and faculty development professional working to support both faculty and student success in higher education. Karen specialises in online pedagogy, trauma aware teaching, climate action pedagogy, and supporting neurodivergent learners. Karen’s first book, 99 Tips for Creating Simple and Sustainable Educational Videos (Stylus, April 2020), focuses on helping faculty and teachers to make creative use of videos in their classrooms. Her second book, An Educator’s Guide to ADHD: Designing and Teaching for Student Success, published by Johns Hopkins University Press, releases on January 20, 2026.
Karen is the creator of Climate Action Pedagogy (CAP), an educational development program that supports teachers, faculty, and staff in integrating climate action into their courses and work.
