Dawn Marie Gilmore
Dawn Marie Gilmore is the Director of Quality and Enhancement at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia. She plays a leading role in managing and interpreting academic standards and processes. She leads a team that works with senior stakeholders university-wide to build best practices and ensure consistent academic quality practices across RMIT operations. Her team’s work impacts 4 colleges, 96,000 students, and 5,300 staff across four countries.
Dawn is also the Executive Secretary for the Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia (ODLAA) and is a book reviewer for Higher Education Research Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA). She has authored peer review academic journal articles, news articles, and blogs about teaching, learning, and quality. During the pandemic her short online teaching tips were read globally by a community of 15,000 and endorsed as best practice by colleges, schools, and organisations. Dawn’s latest publication include ‘Unbundling the approach to teaching in online Australian higher education’ in Management in Education, 2021.
