Supporting Students in Developing Information Literacy

Introduction to the underlying theories of information literacy (IL) and reflective exploration of the ways in which students encounter IL within courses and disciplines.

This course has been developed with Craig Gibson and Sara D. Miller, and it includes short videos, activities, and discussion prompts. When completed you will be able to:

  • Define information literacy, its frames, and its relationship to threshold concept theory.
  • Identify potential areas of information literacy focus within your curriculum.
  • Explore how information literacy relates to your discipline.
