Helping Students Manage Attention and Distraction Through Technology
Managing one's own use of technology is a modern metacognitive skill. In this course, we cover how you can help students manage their technologies to improve attention and reduce distraction when studying.
This course has been developed with Dr Michelle Miller, Professor of Psychological Sciences at Northern Arizona University, USA. This course includes several short videos and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. When completed you will:
- Understand the key concepts around technology use and its impact on learning.
- Recognise misconceptions about technology use that may influence your own teaching.
- Know how to engage students in this topic, through practical activities and discussions.
