Working with Flexible Assessment
Flexible assessment gives students choice over what and how they are assessed, within boundaries, which improves student engagement and outcomes. In this course we’ll look at the concept of flexible assessment, the key principles and how they can be applied in your course design to provide the choice and flexibility that improves student outcomes.
This course has been developed with Dr Sam Elkington, Principal Lecturer in Learning and Teaching Excellence at Teesside University, UK. This course includes several short videos and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. When completed you will:
- Understand the principles of flexible assessment.
- Know how to provide flexible assessments that give students choice of what and how they are assessed.
- Be able to develop personal assessment plans with your students.
