Welcome to the ‘Taking Action for Inclusive Design’ course. While this course stands on its own, it is the final part of a learning path called ‘Addressing Technology-Access Barriers to Online Learning’. You will likely get the most out of your experience if you have already completed the previous offerings in the learning path, ‘Shifting from Systems to Interactions with UDL‘ and ‘Tech Tools and How to Use Them Inclusively‘.
In this course, you will learn how to advocate for specific information-technology (IT) changes to expand adoption of inclusive practices that lower technology-access barriers. The intent of this course is to help you to take meaningful action to get broad adoption of inclusive design practices in the way your organization uses technology tools and systems.
Learning Outcomes
The goal of this course is to help you to scale up your organizational inclusive-design efforts beyond relying on the goodwill and initiative of individual instructors, designers, and administrators. As a result of participating in this course, you will be able to
- advocate for specific IT changes to expand adoption of inclusive practices that lower technology-access barriers, and
- implement processes and settings for various technology systems that create default practices of inclusion.
Who Should Take This Course
