Cultivating Student Voices

James M. Lang
Event Details
In classroom discussions, in assessments, and in their writing and thinking, the student voice seems increasingly threatened. One of the promises of higher education has always been to surface and strengthen each individual's unique voice. What can teachers do to cultivate student voices in the classroom, in course activities, and in assessments? This webinar will discuss strategies to support student voices and encourage you to use your voice to contribute ideas to fellow participants.
James M. Lang is a Professor of Practice at Notre Dame’s Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence and author of six books, including Distracted: Why Students Can't Focus and What You Can Do About It, and Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning. A columnist for The Chronicle of Higher Education, he also edits a series of books on Teaching, Engaging, and Thriving in Higher Ed Series for the University of Oklahoma Press.
This webinar will be recorded. If you're unable to attend the live session, please register anyway to ensure you receive access to the recording afterward.
