Teaching Pre-Built Courses
In this course, you will learn to make the most of pre-built courses (courses that are designed and structured in advance, often with standardised content and materials) by balancing efficiency with your personal teaching style. Discover strategies to engage students, address common challenges, and bring your unique approach to standardised content.
This course has been developed with Niya Bond, Faculty Developer at OneHE, and it includes short videos, activities, and discussion prompts. When completed you will be able to:
- Develop strategies to personalise and enhance pre-built course content while maintaining curriculum integrity.
- Analyse the pedagogical implications of teaching pre-built courses in various higher education contexts.
- Evaluate and implement approaches to maximise student engagement within the context (and possible constraints) of a pre-built course.
