Humanising Your Online Learning
Research shows a link between a caring online instructor and success in online courses. Humanising your online course involves establishing a positive educator-student relationship that supports the cognitive development of diverse students into independent learners.
This course has been developed with Dr Michelle Pacansky-Brock, Faculty Mentor, Online Teaching and Learning, California Community Colleges, Foothill DeAnza District, USA. This course includes several short videos, discussion questions, and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. When completed you will:
- Have a better awareness of the importance of humanising your online teaching and the effects that has on your students’ success.
- Be able to explain how humanising your online teaching requires intentional effort from an educator.
- Be able to apply simple strategies in your online teaching to help support those students who will benefit most from it.
