Being Transparent in Your Teaching
Being more transparent in your teaching—in your assignments and in-class activities, exams, lesson plans, and more—can help all students succeed. In this course you will learn the key principles of TILT (Transparency in Learning and Teaching) and discover simple ways to bring more clarity into your teaching.
This course has been developed with Emily O. Gravett from James Madison University, USA, and it includes short videos, activities, and discussion prompts. When completed you will be able to:
- Explain the benefits of being transparent in your teaching for your students and yourself
- Describe the main principles of the transparent assignment framework (purpose, task, criteria)
- Identify ways beyond assignment design to be more “transparent” in your teaching
