Event Details
In this free 30-minute session, Caleb Curfman (History Instructor at Northland Community and Technical College, USA) and Niya Bond (OneHE Faculty Developer) will explore the complexities of authentic assessments in the AI era—not by policing student work, but by reimagining what "authentic" means when artifacts alone can no longer guarantee learning. Through practical strategies for both constrained and creative teaching contexts, they will return to pedagogical fundamentals through concrete, adaptable strategies: building continuity across assignments, documenting process over product, and making student thinking visible across multiple touch points—whether you're working in standardised courses or have complete design freedom.
