Loglines can be a fun, text-based way to warm up or cool down a session or topic, and get a feel of what students are thinking about a topic. It involves asking students to summarise their experiences or learning on a particular topic in one or two sentences, similar to loglines used in movies. It can be used in any class session, or mid-semester or end-of-semester (or end of module) to ask students to write a logline to describe their experience or learning. It is a bit like the more well-known Classroom Assessment Technique, “minute paper” but in a much more fun way to do it because it is based on loglines in movies.
